My grandfather used to say, "If you want something done right you've got to do it yourself."
I've often followed that advice during the course of my explorations into the paranormal and the results have been very fruitful. I've created a variety of home-made tools and equipment that everyone involved with paranormal research should find useful, and I've introduced some innovative techniques that I'd like to share with other paranormal researchers as well.
Using these tools and techniques, I and my fellow members of The Virginia Ghosts & Hauntings Research Society have made a number of breakthrough discoveries which are leading us to the threshold of a scientifically sound explanation for certain types of paranormal activity. On this website I'll be offering some general advice along with the opportunity for you to obtain some of my unique gizmos and gadgets.
Please keep in mind that the latter are hand-made by me personally and are guaranteed not to look like something you paid a lot of money for. The good news is that you won't pay a lot of money for them and, even better, these unique pieces of equipment will enable you to obtain results unlike anything you've ever seen (or heard) before!
I'll be continually adding
and changing things around here so please check back often for
the latest info.
Send me an e-mail if you have any questions. Thanks!

These days almost everyone involved with paranormal research uses an EMF (electromagnetic field) meter of some sort, but did you ever wonder just what it is these things are actually measuring? When you see the needle jump or the lights blink on your meter's display, you know that something seems to be happening, but what? Was it really a ghost or was it just the neighbor's CB radio? You can't be sure...
A TV show I was watching a few years ago featured a team of 'ghost detectives' who, equipped with state-of-the-art computerized sensor equipment, noticed a strong EMF signal while they were investigating a reportedly haunted light house. Cameras followed the excited team as they tracked their way to the location of the mysterious signal only to find that they had simply 'discovered' the building's heating and cooling system.
Here's the thing:
An EMF meter can give you a numerical reading but it won't tell you much about the nature of what's responsible for that reading. The HUMMER does. The HUMMER is a handheld EMF transducer that plugs into any portable tape recorder or audio amplifier such as Radio Shack's 'Mini Speaker Amp' (which I'll say more about later). By listening to the amplified output from the HUMMER, you can hear a virtual symphony of sounds being produced by the invisible world of electromagnetic radiation.
Most of these sounds are generated by man-made electrical devices and power lines -- including the all-pervading, very obnoxious and possibly carcinogenic 60 Hz hum and its harmonics. Other man-made electromagnetic signals (including virtually all frequencies of nearby radio & TV transmissions) can be heard and easily identified as well. Some of the more interesting sounds you can hear are those being produced by the earth's own natural electrical activity, primarily from lightning and related atmospheric electrical discharges which occur at all times of the day and all seasons of the year.
As you gain experience from listening to EM radiation via the HUMMER, you will soon become familiar with the variety of 'normal' ambient electromagnetic sounds. Then, when a 'paranormal' signal comes through, you'll recognize it for what it is. No EMF meter will let you do that !
We can probably credit Teddy Skyler, Regional Director with the Virginia Ghosts & Hauntings Research Society, as being the first person to have actually heard a 'ghost' while using the HUMMER...
While conducting an investigation in the Virginia Beach area a few years ago, Teddy suddenly heard what she described as 'a bird flapping its wings'. This sound effect was heard with the HUMMER at the same time that her EMF meter registered an anomalous spike. I recognized Teddy's description as being the sound you would hear from waving a strong magnet close to the HUMMER. Since no one was actually waving a strong magnet nearby, and since there is no other known explanation for this effect being produced on the HUMMER under normal circumstances, we can conclude that the source of the sound was most probably paranormal.
Bottom
line:
If you want to watch numbers, needles and blinking lights, stick
with your EMF meter.
If you want to actually hear a ghost, get a HUMMER !
